Silverfish

Silver fish are a major problem in our households in Australia.

They damage clothes, carpets, wallpaper, photographs and anything which contains starch or proteins.

Silver fish are about 20mm long and have no antennae, silver coloured and flat bodied with 3 tails and are covered with silver scales.

Silverfish prefer undisturbed dark and damp places such as bathrooms, kitchens and roof voids. They are mostly active at night as they shun light.

An adult silver fish can live up to 2 or 3 years.
